The Hispanic Theology and Ministry program at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago has put out an Advent resource well worth checking out. It is a series of very short reflection questions and an original song by the liturgical composer and my friend Tony Alonso that was performed at the campus of CTU earlier this year. Here is the description of this Advent resource that is provided as an introduction:
In these days of uncertainty and fear, Advent provides time and inspiration to consider the expectations of the reign of God’s peace and justice. Latina theologian Ada María Isasi-Díaz reminds us that God calls us to kin-dom, to build responsible relationships in mutual solidarity with each other and all of creation. This series in four cantos engages Advent themes that particularly speak to our troubled times, nuestra vida cotidiana. In this musical conjunto with psalms, ancient songs and contemporary hymnody open our hearts to the mystery of the Incarnation.
