As the Catholic world eagerly anticipates the much-discussed beatification of the late Pope John Paul II, the Vatican has launched a high-tech and interactive tribute website in the late Pontiff’s honor. The website is well-done and reflects the Vatican’s continued efforts to engage the world in a digital age. Following several statements by various dicasteries and Pope Benedict XVI over the last two years highlighting both the necessity and the challenges of digital media, it is nice to see such a well-crafted technological product.

The website contains a variety of pages that look like something from the labs of Apple. There are links to photo galleries, a biography, a chronological presentation of the Pope’s pontificate, a collection of the Pope’s prayers, among other things. It is well-worth checking out!
