Br. Dan — this is the kind of insightful post that reminds me I’m barely scratching the surface of the Scriptures when I read them. Two things — 1) permit me to a recommend a good book on the relationship between farming and faith — A Time to Plant by Kyle Kramer, a columnist at America magazine and friend of mine. 2) your post also made me reflect on how growing requires not only a combination of physical factors but also pure time. We expect things to happen quickly these days, at least I do, but we need to get comfortable with patience and waiting in our lives, especially with respect to our spiritual growth.

Hi Stephen, many thanks for your comment! Excellent book recommendation! (I discussed it briefly here last year, a great book indeed: http://datinggod.org/2011/04/25/a-time-to-talk-about-a-time-to-plant/)
I think you’re 100% on target about our need to be more aware of time and growth!
Peace!

The last paragraph really sums it up very well. Excellent, Br. Dan!

My uncle Patrick sent me this link and I just had to tell you how much it encouraged me! Even as a highschooler I was able to get a lot out of it along with your rich writing, it was beautiful and a perspective on Lent I had not thought about. Thank you!
