  1. Robert Grosseteste is amazing. I read all about him when I was writing a report on the Ignatian (Antioch, not Loyola) epistles. His translation work, which he left to the Franciscans at Oxford, is the reason James Ussher was able to discover which recension (there are three) of those epistles was the genuine one.
