Dating God Podcast #06 — How to Become a Franciscan Friar
It’s good to be back! Thanks for your patience during the delay in broadcasting the podcast, I was — as many of you know — on the West Coast for a month on retreat in preparation for Solemn Profession. I’ve just returned this week from a trip to the Jersey Shore where I gave some lectures on Thomas Merton and Franciscan Spirituality. I’m happy to share with you the return of the regular podcast!!
The latest episode of the podcast has just been released. Here’s the info: “In this episode we hear from Fr. Brian Smail, OFM, (pictured to the left with Archbishop Timothy Dolan of NYC) about his experience becoming a Franciscan friar and what it’s like for him to be a vocation director, assisting other men in discerning where God is calling them. This is the first of a new three-part vocation special series after a month-long break.”
This is the first of a three-part installment on Franciscan vocations. Next week we’ll hear from the first of two friars from different parts of the United States as we get an introduction to what Franciscan friars are doing in ministry and what their journeys are like elsewhere in this country. Enjoy!
